Refund policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to purchases of goods from DM Building Supplies via our website or direct sales. It is subject to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). 

2. Change of Mind

Unless otherwise agreed, we do not provide refunds simply for change of mind or ordering the wrong product. Please ensure you select the correct product type, size and quantity before purchase.

3. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods

If you receive goods that are defective, damaged or incorrect, you must notify us within 7 days of delivery providing proof of purchase, order number and photos of the issue. We will inspect and determine your remedy in line with the ACL. If there is a major failure, you are entitled to choose a refund, replacement or repair. 

4. Special-Order / Custom / Fabricated Items

Products that have been cut, fabricated, bent or are custom-made to specification are non-returnable for change of mind unless defective or incorrectly supplied.

5. Returns Process

  • Do not return goods without prior approval; unauthorised returns may be refused.

  • Returned goods must be in original condition, packaging (where applicable) and unused (unless faulty).

  • Unless the fault is our error, return shipping costs remain the customer’s responsibility.

6. Refunds

Once we receive and inspect the returned goods and your claim is approved, we will refund using the original payment method within 10 business days. Freight/delivery costs will only be refunded where goods are faulty, incorrectly supplied or our error.

7. Delivery & Stock-Availability Considerations

As we deliver throughout the Riverina region from our local warehouse, some goods may be subject to freight surcharges or delivery constraints. Claims for delivery delay or cost must be communicated to us promptly.

8. Consumer Guarantees (ACL)

These terms do not limit your rights under the AC L. For example, goods must be of acceptable quality, match description, and be fit for purpose. Where a major failure occurs you are entitled to a remedy including full refund.
